Dear Readers and Advertisers

March, the month when spring gets into full swing. We are lucky in that the square miles covered by our circulation area is surrounded by farmland, many fields of which will be full of cavorting lambs. Is there ever a prettier picture of lambs and spring flowers bathed in lovely sunshine? Winter’s dark and weary days are shed and March is the time to get out to explore Kent’s wonderful countryside. One of those flowers the lambs might be sniffing, could be a daffodil and the fresh new grass they maybe munching may contain a shamrock or two. Both of these are the symbols for the March saints days of David on the 1st and Patrick on the 17th. Both causes for celebration if you have Welsh or Irish connections. When folk get together and raise a glass to toast, whatever their national affiliation, of pride in nationality it is always in friendship in this United Kingdom. We may batter each other on sports fields or claim a deeper culture but most end up being proud of being part of Great Britain.
